System and General Loads Engineer

Location Reims
Department System
Type Full-Time
Starting Asap

Latitude’s Zephyr program is moving fast, and we’re looking for a System Engineer to own the definition and consistency of general loads across the vehicle, covering flight, transportation, and integration phases, all the way from early sizing to verification.

Responsibilities

General loads shape everything: structure sizing, subsystem margins, and verification plans. Your work will directly influence performance, reliability, and the pace at which we design, test, and fly.

Tasks & missions

  • Own in‑flight general loads for Zephyr and keep them consistent as the design evolves.

  • Define transportation & integration loads used for sizing and verification of launcher structures and Stage 0.

  • Act as a system interface with Mission Analysis, GNC, and SMS (structures mechanical systems) to ensure load cases align with mission profiles and control strategies.

  • Contribute to design and program reviews (subsystems, stages, and full Zephyr milestones), providing clear rationale, data, and recommendations.

  • Drive requirements, assumptions, and documentation so downstream teams can design with confidence.

Preferred experience & skills

  • Engineering degree (or equivalent experience) with a strong mechanical/structures foundation.

  • Hands‑on experience with loads calculation, mechanical simulation, and meshing.

  • Working knowledge across mission analysis, GNC, aerodynamics, dynamics, and thermal (you don’t need to be the expert in each—just comfortable collaborating).

  • Clear communicator who can organize complex information and align multiple teams.

Nice to have :

  • Familiarity with FEA/FEM and scripting (e.g., Python/Matlab) to automate studies.

  • Experience preparing test or verification plans linked to load cases.

  • Exposure to launchers, spacecraft, or high‑performance structures.

Index

Like all French companies with more than 50employees, Latitude has fulfilled its obligations by declaring and publishing its gender equality index to the Ministry of Labor.

This index allows concerned companies to assess, on a scale of 100 points, the level of equality between men and women based on the following criteria:

  • Gender pay gap: the difference between the average salaries of men and women, ideally aiming for a gap of 0 for perfect equality;
  • Difference in individual raise rates: percentage of women and men who received raises during the year;
  • Gender parity among the top 10 highest earners:percentage of women and men who received raises during the year;
  • Number of female employees receiving raises after maternity leave.

Obtained Scores

Latitude has provided the required indicators, and the detailed scores obtained are as follows:

  • Indicator 1: Gender pay gap: 31/40
  • Indicator 2: Difference in individual raise rates: 35/35
  • Indicator 3: Number of employees receiving raises upon return from maternity or adoption leave: 15/15
  • Indicator 4: Gender parity among the top 10 highest earners: 5/10 (2 women among the top 10 highest earners as of 12/31/2024)

The score obtained is 86/100.

At Latitude, we firmly believe that gender equality and diversity are essential pillars of well-being in the workplace and the overall performance of our company. In line with our values, we maintain our commitment to actively recruit women, particularly in engineering fields, while emphasizing the recognition and support of their professional trajectories.

We pledge to provide them with all necessary opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers within our organization, focusing especially on collective awareness initiatives and targeted training and coaching programs.
