As part of the implementation of Zephyr production, the process of assembling components by welding (TIG, FSW) requires the development of suitable tools (pointing, smoothing, welding, inspection, mechanical reworking, handling).

Tasks & missions

The intern’s duties will be :

  • Analyze requirements and draft functional and organizational specifications in collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Validate with internal (HSE) and external official (VERITAS/APAVE) bodies the safety measures implemented throughout this project (preliminary risk analysis, drafting of DUERP in collaboration with HSE, compliance with the machinery directive for design, production, and acceptance).
  • Design mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic sub-assemblies using NX software in collaboration with the DT and DO departments.
  • Know how to initiate manufacturing (internal/external) while meeting cost/quality/deadline objectives.
  • Contact suppliers, analyze quotes, hold technical discussions, and manage the supplier schedule.
  • Be a source of proposals for technical/organizational improvements on a daily basis.
  • Promote project-based management, initiative, direct communication, and information sharing among all project stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the assembly of designed sub-assemblies and participate in acceptance/qualification testing.
  • Learn to identify the root cause using tools such as FMEA/5M/5Why/QQOQCCP/brainstorming.

The electrical assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of a space launcher refers to all procedures and tests dedicated to validating the launcher's electrical and electronic systems. This critical phase includes wiring assembly, integration of electrical equipment (such as actuators and sensors), and functional and environmental testing to ensure reliability and compliance with mission requirements.

Tasks & missions

The intern’s duties will be :

  • Write Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) procedures for the onboard electronics sub-assemblies for the EPSILON project.
  •  Develop automated procedures in the Syclone environment.
  •  Set up the measurement acquisition system via the Beckhoff PLC ecosystem (HMI development, card selection, cabling, etc.).
  • Participate in the design of integration and validation benches for electronic equipment.

The intern will learn about AIT electrical and electronic processes in the aerospace and Newspace sectors.

  • Strong expertise in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and system modeling.
  • Knowledge of valves, pressure regulators, and industrial piping is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with modeling software (EcoSim), CAD tools (NX, Catia), CFD tools (Fluent, Star CCM+), and programming languages (Python, Matlab, Fortran) is highly appreciated.
  • Strong team leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus).

  • Hands-on experience with modeling software (EcoSim), CAD tools (NX, Catia), CFD tools (Fluent, Star CCM+), and programming languages (Python, Matlab, Fortran) is highly appreciated.
  • Strong team leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus).
