Fluid Systems Engineer (f/m/d)

The Fluid department is responsible for the development the launcher's board fluid systems as well as ground and test facilities fluid systems.

In particular, the fluid department is responsible for:

-Designing the fluid systems in terms of functional needs, system architecture and choice of fluids for all the company fluids’ systems (launcher, ground, and test facilities)

-Choosing the appropriate components to realize the chosen functions

-Modelling the behavior of the system to validate the design

-Defining how the system needs to be operated- Guarantee the safety and reliability of the designed system

-Analyze test results to make sure the system responded as designed

-Optimize built systems to gain in reliability and efficiency

Responsibilities

As Fluid Systems Engineer you will participate in several tasks around fluidic simulation, testing and integration of both ground and on-board equipment. To test all elements of the engine, multiple test benches will be integrated before the end of this year. After which, both stages will need to be integrated and tested as well. The test results will need to be analyzed to see how the system responded in real life conditions.

Tasks & missions

Your main missions will consist in :

  • Identify all the fluid functions for vehicle and ground proximity means (filling, pressurization, and conditioning facilities)- Carry-out sizing studies of the different processes
  • Dynamic modeling of fluid processes
  • Search for appropriate technical solutions
  • Participate in vehicle integration studies with other departments (propulsion, architecture and industrial departments)
  • Define detailed specifications for fluid systems components and collaborate with  suppliers ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical requirements.
  • Write operational documentation of fluid processes for program development reviews.
  • Develop the test logic of the ground segment and stages installations.
  • Analyze test results in order to continuously improve vehicle performance.
  • Liaise with other engineering departments (structures, avionics, quality, etc) in order to understand the systems various constraints such as mechanical, electrical, control command and environmental.

Preferred experience & skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Energy Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the aerospace, chemical, energy, or a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and system modelling.
  • Knowledge of valve technologies, pressure regulators, and industrial piping is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience with modelling software (e.g., Ecosim) is an asset, as well as familiarity with CAD tools (NX, CATIA…), CFD software (Fluent, Star-CCM+), and programming languages (Python, MATLAB, Fortran).
  • Comfortable with iterative design processes and able to adapt in a fast-moving development environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Thermal engineer internship (f/m/d)

Senior System Engineer (f/m/d)

Within the Technical Directorate, you will contribute to the design and overall coherence of the launch system, with a particular focus on one of its stages.

Tasks & missions

Reporting to the System Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the performance, coherence, and qualification of the system.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Writing and managing system requirements for one launcher stage, and preparing and executing its verification and validation plan;
  • Ensuring consistency between stage specifications, subsystem specifications, and their interfaces;
  • Verifying alignment of the system with operational and launch system-level requirements;
  • Preparing and supervising the stage acceptance specifications and tests;
  • Defining the verification and qualification logic and drafting the validation plan for technical requirements;
  • Organizing and contributing to major technical reviews (PDR, CDR, QR, etc.);
  • Participating in subsystem development reviews and coordinating across technical departments;
  • Managing configuration control and development planning;
  • Providing technical support to production teams when needed.

Preferred experience & skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent;

At least 10 years of experience in a similar position or in a related field (space, aerospace, or complex systems);

Strong background in systems engineering with a solid multi-domain understanding;

Excellent analytical and synthesis skills, curiosity, and open-mindedness;

Good command of English, both written and spoken;

Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment.

Ability to adapt quickly, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and make pragmatic decisions under tight schedules.

Responsibilities

The main objective is to optimize the heat treatment process of our different parts and especially the combustion chamber.

Tasks & missions

The intern’s tasks will be:
To evaluate the impact of different heat treatments on the material’s response after engine loading.
To correlate the thermophysical properties of the material for different heat treatments.
To propose a specific heat treatment for engine parts in order to optimize the cost and durability of the assembly.
Provide an in-depth bibliographic study on the effect of heat treatments on the alloys used.

Work in an open space with dynamic interactions and experience a great variety of fields. You will learn how to be integrated in the development process of a rocket engine and get the basis of the engineering method for part and tool design.

To improve visibility and streamline the development process, the team is launching an initiative to create a Wireshark plugin capable of decoding these protocols.

Responsibilities

An intern is needed to lead the development of this tool, leveraging data already available from an internal protocol description system. This project will play a key role in enhancing diagnostic capabilities across engineering teams and ensuring mission reliability.

  • Generate a complete ethernet decoding plugin from internal data (Wireshark)
