The Fluid department is responsible for the development the launcher's board fluid systems as well as ground and test facilities fluid systems.
In particular, the fluid department is responsible for:
-Designing the fluid systems in terms of functional needs, system architecture and choice of fluids for all the company fluids’ systems (launcher, ground, and test facilities)
-Choosing the appropriate components to realize the chosen functions
-Modelling the behavior of the system to validate the design
-Defining how the system needs to be operated- Guarantee the safety and reliability of the designed system
-Analyze test results to make sure the system responded as designed
-Optimize built systems to gain in reliability and efficiency
As Fluid Systems Engineer you will participate in several tasks around fluidic simulation, testing and integration of both ground and on-board equipment. To test all elements of the engine, multiple test benches will be integrated before the end of this year. After which, both stages will need to be integrated and tested as well. The test results will need to be analyzed to see how the system responded in real life conditions.

The intern will join the SMS department, which will join the calculations team.
The intern will be responsible for:
– Mesh components on NX to prepare dynamic calculations.
– Taking into account simple calculations on shelves and various supports.
– Validation by pre-design calculation.

Within the SMS department, the workload associated with thermal studies is increasing significantly, both for the launcher and for ground support equipment. This development requires greater mobilization of teams and appropriate organization to respond effectively to growing needs and guarantee the quality of the work carried out.
During the internship, the intern will carry out several tasks:
– Revision of calculations on the deflector.
– Thermal calculations on shelf elements, skirts, etc.
– Search for suppliers of thermal protection.
The intern will learn about the thermal life cycle of a launcher, from transfer to end of mission.

You will integrate into the propulsion team and participate in the development of Navier rocket engine adapted for Zephyr launcher.
The main objective is to optimize the heat treatment process of our different parts and especially the combustion chamber.
The intern’s tasks will be:
To evaluate the impact of different heat treatments on the material’s response after engine loading.
To correlate the thermophysical properties of the material for different heat treatments.
To propose a specific heat treatment for engine parts in order to optimize the cost and durability of the assembly.
Provide an in-depth bibliographic study on the effect of heat treatments on the alloys used.
Work in an open space with dynamic interactions and experience a great variety of fields. You will learn how to be integrated in the development process of a rocket engine and get the basis of the engineering method for part and tool design.

As the demand for higher computational performance continues to grow in the space industry, FPGAs play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of modern on-board computers. In this context, Latitude and its Electrical and Software Systems team aims at improving its existing FPGA feature set for its on-board needs.
The main responsibilities for this position include:
▪ Improving a clock synchronization feature to produce a disciplined clock for a CPU, based on external synchronization signals
▪ Developing specialized hardware drivers for RS422 based communication protocols
▪ Offloading specific CPU computations to the FPGA to improve system performance
▪ Developing software test benches, plan and run integration tests to validate the behavior of the IPs
▪ Education: Pursuing a degree in Electronics, Computer Science or a related field
▪ Technical skills: Proficiency in Hardware Description Language, preferably VHDL. Knowledge of typical microcontroller’s communication protocols is a plus (RS422, Ethernet, etc..)

The intern will join the Electrical Systems & Software (ESS) team, where we have developed custom communication protocols based on UDP, used extensively for interactions between onboard systems.
